PLEASE NOTE: This group is for people who currently live in Astoria or Long Island City!!! The Astoria Social Scene Meetup is for hip, fun, diverse professionals in their mid-20's to late-30's who currently live in Astoria or Long Island City -- to enjoy local nightlife, arts, culture and dining, and to meet new people and make new friends. In other words...? To have fun, enjoy life, and kick it locally! I lived in Astoria as a kid and moved back 6 years ago, but like many in NY, I've focused so much on work that I hardly know anyone in my own 'hood! I created this group to change that, and to foster a local social scene for those of us who don't always want to head to Manhattan. I DJ regularly in Astoria/LIC and I am currently involved with starting up nightlife events in Astoria/LIC. SO -- if bars, lounges, tapas, museums, music, film, culture, brunch, wine tastings, meeting new friends and creating a great local social scene appeals to you, come check out the A.S.S. (Astoria Social Scene, that is... HA! ). Already know people in Astoria/LIC? Bring 'em, and you can all meet new people! We're looking forward to hanging with you.
