Yearly Party NYC.

As many of you might recall, last August, we had a great party at World Bar (about 100 or more attended!) and everyone had an amazing time. This year, I hope to even surpass that party!!

RSVP Note:

---Please RSVP ahead of time instead of just showing up. It really helps the bar and me prepare for the correct quantity of attendees.
---Any attendees showing up without being on RSVP list will be asked for $20 cash event fee in person.

By the way, Happy Birthday! A nice bunch of our members are celebrating birthdays and we are having an awesome birthday bash to celebrate. So far, I KNOW that we have JC, Patty, Lara, Jay, Erin and Stephen celebrating. Do let me know if you are too!

The name "World" carries a bit of responsibility with it -- it requires a decent contribution to the theme. The brass and glass host building Trump Tower doesn't add much character, nor does the beige first impression of the lounge's interior, but it is across from the UN, so the music spans styles and origins and the drink menu is a cocktail journey around the globe. Classics from around the world are described, including time and place of origin and other little nuggets of history. Beverage Manager George Delgado is also credited with creating the city's most expensive cocktail -- a blend of Remy XO, Pineau des Charentes, Veuve Clicquot and fruit juices known as the ''World Cocktail.'' Priced at 50 bucks, the drink is topped with a floater of 23-karat liquid gold. The bar sells around 10 of the cocktails each week, and if you order one from a table, the bartender will appear to mix the drink for you personally. The big World Bar drink favorite, however, is the mango gem, made with muddled mango, gin and mango liqueur. And the beige wood decor, innocuous at first, deserves a closer look.
