Cafeteria Catholics are people who were most likely born and raised Catholic and for one reason or another may have drifted away, had issues or consider themselves Catholic without being a person who adheares to the "strict" letter of the law. If you are a dynamic person and you "believe", have a sense of spiritaulity,( a Christmas tree ), know most of the words to "Kumbayah" but don't want to really sing it every Sunday come on out and meet others who are more likely to discuss today's events rather than last week's readings ( not that there is anything wrong with that :) ).
