SATURDAY July 26th 2008
12NOON -10PM
VOLLEYBALL STARTS @ 1PM.
THE BBQ STARTS APPROX. 3PM.
THE BONFIRE STARTS APPROX 6:30-10PM

Last month we had over 450 people RSVP for this event!

Summer's here and time's right for a fun day at the beach with us enjoying- Swimming/Surfing/Boogie Boarding/Sun Bathing/Biking/Roller Blading /socializing/volleyball/smash ball/bocce ball/horse shoe toss

What to bring:
I'll bring the large propane bbq grill. Please bring any games you'd like to play, tables to put the food/drinks on, BOTTLED WATER, LOT'S OF FIREWOOD FOR THE BONFIRE, Meat to BBQ (burgers, hot dogs, chicken, fish) Veggies to grill, side dishes, buns, condiments, utensils/cups/napkins, smores supplies including clothes hangers for marshmallow roasting, ice and coolers, ** PLEASE NO CHIPS /SNACKS/ DESSERTS**

Location/Directions:
This is the HUNTINGTON STATE BEACH, NOT THE CITY BEACH! The beach parking entrance is at Magnolia/PCH. After paying, make a quick right (almost a U-turn) drive to near the end of the parking lot. You'll see 6 volleyball courts (in the sand to your left) near the snack shop/restrooms (directly in front of you), lifeguard tower 11 nearby and the powerplant directly to your right across PCH. If you don't see the power plant across PCH you're in the wrong spot. After parking, look for: OUR BLUE CANOPY WITH THE "ODC" SIGN, "MEETUP" SIGN, AND PIRATE FLAG SET UP BY THE FIRE PIT.


Parking is $10 per car all day(please carpool)
Please note: In the heat of summer, the parking lot can get full and they might close the Magnolia St parking lot. This usually happens between 1pm-4pm. If they close the Magnolia St entrance, you can drive down to the Brookhurst St entrance and come back up to and enter the Magnolia parking lot (they're connected). To avoid these parking issues, please get to the beach EARLY (before 1pm).

There is no alcohol allowed on the state beach. They will ticket you if they catch you with alcohol. Don't get caught.

Don't forget sunscreen, chairs, blankets for sitting on and for warmth, and long pants and a sweatshirt for later as it can get chilly at night.
