Sorry it's sort of short notice, but I just got word from our very own Jason Kendall.

He's not only a karaoke superstar AND the force behind Shakespear Saturdays at the Library, but he's ALSO an astronomer. And he's bringing astronomy to Inwood. Here's the word from the man himself:

I am taking the telescope up into the park tomorrow (Friday the 11th) at 9:00 PM. We'll meet at Garden Cafe and then go up into the park at about 9:30 or so. I will have the Celestron Starhopper 6" out and up on the hill. No more wimpy little Meade ETX90. We are going big time in the city.

Jupiter will be up, and you can clearly see the moons and even the Red Spot in the scope.

This isn't all, by the way. It is all part of a much larger project
to bring astronomy to Manhattan in 2009. If you want to see
