Anyone else off for Memorial Day? Let's do another Memorial Day Marathon! Did you know that Inwood has the LAST Memorial Day Parade in New York? Let's take advantage of the uniqueness of Upper Manhattan by remembering the people who served our country. We'll make it a day of fun in their honor! What better way to celebrate the heroes of our country than a Parade, and then Part Two is a walk down the Greenway
Part 1....let's meet to watch the parade. Let's meet on the steps of Good Shepherd Church at noon...to watch the parade as it comes to us. Below are the details.
Details: The Inwood Manhattan Memorial Day Parade -- American Legion Inwood Post #581 will observe Memorial Day with a ceremony and parade on Monday, May 26, 2008. The parade begins at noon on Dyckman St. and Broadway. A wreath laying ceremony will take place at 12:45 p.m., at the flagpole in Inwood Hill Park on Seaman Avenue and Isham Street. Your presence would not only be a tribute to our fallen service members, but to their families and all veterans.
