Hey all! As many of you know, coming up this June is the 6th Annual Uptown Arts Stroll. It's a month-long festival celebrating the art and artists of upper Manhattan. It's a pretty amazing festival and this year's is just plain awesome. There will be art shows of all kinds, performances (including the much-discussed cabaret), kids' events, you name it. We'll be posting most, if not all, of the events here in one way or another, so keep your eyes peeled!
You can get all the info on the Art Stroll here and the full schedule is here. Check it out! One thing that the Art Stoll needs is volunteers! In particular, the Children's Art Day, sponsored by the Washington Heights Community Arts Project and the Kids Art Network is looking for both artists to lead children in little projects, as well as guides. Here's some additional info from KAN: We need volunteers on June 7th at every Art Activity helping with the families and helping keep the location clean (scraps of art materials fly around quickly). Below are details for our day. Starting points: RING Garden Swindler Cove 148 st and Bradhurst Ave (near bandshell) 135 st and St. Nicholas Ave There needs to be an artist or volunteer at every site by 9:15AM, tables will arrive at that time. Art Activity will be 9:30AM - 10:30AM If you're interested in helping out on June 7th, contact KAN at kanintheheights@gmail.com. See you on the Stroll! More details to come... |
