About 20's/30's Girls in DC

This is a girls group for women in their 20's and early 30's, we're approaching our second anniversary, so we've been around for a while.

We don't care if you're single or married with kids, new in town or lived here your whole life, all are welcome.

Yes, hanging out with the guys is great, but sometimes we want some girl time too! We have all sorts of events (and always encourage members to organize events as well!). What have we done so far? Dinners, happy hours, movie & pizza nights, beach trips, days out at a park for BBQ and swimming, brunch, horseback riding, visits to the zoo, charity events, game nights, trips to Kings Dominion, DVD marathons, a monthly book club, camping trips, skydiving, ice skating, trap shooting, cookie exchange during the holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas "orphans" dinners (for those of us with family out of town), paintball, poker nights... Some of these are girls only, but for some events, we plan a coed outing so you can bring your boyfriend/husband/friends out too!

We plan whatever we put our mind to!

Let us know about ideas for events, or if you want to host something. One of the main thing that has contributed to the success of the group are members who have hosted events. There's a restaurant you want to try but have no one to go with? Well, there's an idea for an event! The organizers will post it on meetup for you so others can join you. We also welcome new organizers, we just ask that you attend a couple of events prior to taking charge.

The group is completely free to join and remain a member (but of course you pay what you eat at dinners, etc), we just ask you to be considerate of the hosts/members and RSVP -- most importantly, if you say you'll be there, be there! We have a very strict "no show" policy (information is on our message board, which you can read once you become a member), and members have been removed in the past for multiple "no show" RSVP's.

We also do a "cleanup" every couple of weeks, removing inactive members who have not visited the site in over 3 months. Life is busy for all of us, and we have no minimum attendance (even the organizers sometimes spend months without being able to attend an event), but we ask that you at least visit the site, check out the message boards, our calendar, etc, to keep your profile active.

IMPORTANT: We do require you to post a pic, just so we know how you look like when we have an event -- easier to find each other that way. We won't approve your membership until your profile is complete with a photo. Believe me, you'll be glad you recognize a few faces at your first event!

Are you nervous about coming to something where you do not know anyone? Most events have a couple of other new members out too, and all the girls are friendly regardless! You can always post a note on the message board as well.
