DESCRIPTION: DROP-IN ANYTIME TO JOIN - BEGINNER BACHATA. This class is designed for those who have never danced before. BACHATA is a romantic style of dance from the Dominican Republic. Growing from Bolero and being influenced by Merengue with sensual hip and body movements. The steps are simple moving back and forth and sideways with accentuated hips and improvised patterns. You will learn the following: the basic step pattern, giving and receiving turns, proper body positioning and hands, footwork styling options, several turn combinations, hip isolations, music theory.

TIME: 7:30PM - 9:30PM

DESCRIPTION: MUST REGISTER & JOIN BY 5/7 - BEGINNER SALSA. This class is designed for those who have never danced before, danced very little, or those who dance Salsa ON 1. This class starts from the basics and moves through the essential steps to help you survive out there to feel confident enough to dance socially at parties and clubs. The first 1/2 hour of class will begin by breaking down the basic steps, 1 or 2 solo footwork patterns (Individual Fancy Footwork) and individual turns. The next hour of class wil move into partnering. Men/Leaders will learn how to develop strong leading techniques and Ladies/Followers will learn how to develop strong following techniques with smoothness, elegant styling (Accents), and basic body movement skills. Each week new steps and turns are taught and previous weeks' steps and turns patterns are reviewed.
