Day at the Lake

DAY AT THE LAKE
July 27, 2008 (Sunday), 10am

Summer time is the BEST!
Load up your car with a cooler, beach towel,
suntan lotion, perhaps a good book,
and let's hit the lake.

TIME
Meet at Amy’s house in North Raleigh (directions below)
at 10am. From there, we will determine car pooling.
If you’re arrive after 10:15, we probably will have left.
We should be returning in the late afternoon (3:30/4pm-ish?),
to be determined by drivers.
Some may want to stay later, some may want
to leaver earlier and have to be back by a certain time.
If you’re a passenger, get with a driver
who will leave about the time you prefer.

KERR LAKE
We will be going to Kerr Lake
at Hibernia State Park
which is an hour’s drive from my house.
I just scoped out the park today; it’s beautiful!
I will have very good directions
on how to get to Hibernia
to give to you Sunday morning.
Dogs are not allowed in the swimming area
(wish they were!)

The park charges $5 to park your car.
So we’ll meet at my house and drive together.
Everyone pitches in for gas except the drivers.
Riders should also pay for the park entrance fee.

EAT
Picnicking at the park is optional.
I probably won’t bother and will eat after we return
(tho I may bring a sandwich and a twinkee!).
Come have a beer on the porch when we return.
Then we can grab a bite or grill after.
If we grill at my house, I can get plenty
of burgers and corn-on-the-cob.
I'll also make macaroni salad,
and watergate salad.
Paula's bringing brownies.

RSVP
RSVP-ing isn’t absolutely necessary,
but it’d be nice if I had an idea who was coming.

No kids please.
