About this Meetup

Whether you are in the arts or not, our gathering has elicited feedback that reflects how much our guests have been impressed with, well, each other. Words like "friendly," "open," "eclectic," "interesting," "warm," "creative," and "dynamic" have been thrown around.

HPLF is the House Party Liberation Front. Let us explain. After playing in bands and performing around town, we began to feel as if all we were doing was asking friends to do us the favor of coming to a bar and paying a cover to see us play for 45 minutes. Not that we didn't believe in our music, but we yearned to present something more interactive, community-based, and mutually beneficial for other artists (music and non-music) alike.

We started doing these monthly in January, in our homes at first as a way to test things. We had DJs who freestyled, musicians jamming with them, paintings and photography hung on the walls, a lighting designer, video art on a screen, a live painter, food, drinks...a stellar time.

This is now public and intended for the types of people we're indicating to network, hang art, hang out. And BTW, "we" are Planet of the Grapes, a multi-arts, indie creative co.
