A description from the website :

What is Spaced Out?

Spaced Out is a website dedicated to naming and shaming drivers who misuse disable parking bays.

Spaced Out is for everyone who gets offended by this inconsiderate behaviour.

Disabled parking spaces are one of the few noticable amenities created to help disabled people and a simple one, however a lot of people find it hard to follow. Disabled spaces are not there for when able people "are just popping in" or as an overflow when standard spaces are full, nor are they for deliveries, rubbish bins or motorbikes.

Supermarkets are a very common location where spaces are misused, but is it not illegal to wrongly park in disabled spaces here as supermarkets are private land. Most supermarkets don't have stewards to stop misuse nor would many penalise guilty parties due to the negative PR it is perceived that could generate!

Please register and upload phone snaps of misuse now, naming the place and time the snap was taken.

Once 20,000 photos have been uploaded, Spaced Out will present this information as a petition to all the major UK supermarkets and the Disability Rights Commission to show them the need to change their disabled car parking policies.

In addition, Spaced Out believes you should submit the details to the relevant Local Authorities in the hope that the offenders will receive the fixed penalty that they deserve.

Please register and start uploading today, and help us here at Spaced Out to force changes to the way these amenities are abused.
