The Parish on Micklegate.

Entrance is large and spacious although the 2 double doors are rather difficult especially in a wheelchair. Once your in your fine there is lots of space however don't expect to be able to go to the toilet as the 'accessible toilet' is used for a store cupboard.

The chinesse buffet on George Hudson Street

You cannot even get in. (which i thought was against the law now) Their answer to this was to casually say no problem we'll just lift you up the steps! Two slim men lift a battery powered electric wheelchair with someone in, I dont think so. Plus i'd rather not be lifted up and pushed about before and after my meal.

Bettys cafe in Harrogate.

Sadly my fiance and I were disapointed by this branch in Harrogate because of the none exhistant wheelchair access. There was no access to the cafe at all. They did offer an alternative to sit us upstairs by the shop with queues. Well i dont know about you but i dont fancy having a meal while people are standing over you in a queue. It would have also felt that we were in the shop window/ rather exposed too.

We asked if there their was no other way? They replied 'No we dont have any other way in' I find this hard to believe, surely they would have some form of enterance for wheels, for their deliveries???

A Wheelchair asscessible Dentist in Sedgefield County Durham.

The picture says it all really. You could also ask yourself how someone is suppose to call the front door bell for assitance before they've even started to try and wheel their chairs over the large steps and the stair lift????

Library Bus located in Newcastle Upon Tyne

This is another laughable picture, which again tells all.

Jorvick Medical Practice on Stonebow

This is madness. Although the inside of the surgery is reasonable as long as you dont need to talk to the reception staff. But the access into the building is rather poor regarding the disabled parking.

There is one space designed for disabled parking (which may i add is very small) However the space may as well not be there as it is completely ignored. Cars not only park in the space but also near the main door restricting access to the door by wheelchair.

When i questioned this to the Practice manager there commonet was that " Doctors need access and somewhere to park"

Consquently there is no guarantee before you arrive if you can park for your appointments.

Poorly advised (but obviously well intended, those doors are not cheap) Although surely common sense is definitely amiss.
